Every other journal tells you what went wrong after you've paid for it. Trapper's Edge works upstream: your plan rules become pre-trade gates, a cooldown wall stops revenge trades after a losing streak, and a discipline score grades how well you followed your own rules — not just your P/L.
Trapper's Edge is built around the moment before the order: does this trade fit your plan, is the spread clean, is the tape aligned, and is your recent form safe enough to size up?
Write your own quality checklist in Plan, set regime risk, earnings distance, daily loss caps, and IV rules. The app enforces your rules; it never rates a stock for you.
Paste TOS or ORB alert text to fill entry, stop, target, OR range, bid, ask, and spread. Size from the stop, then copy a ready-to-check OCO ticket into your broker.
Fees, screenshots, rule breaks, spread drag, and end-of-day debriefs turn the journal into a feedback loop. Weekly focus and digest surface your costliest leak.
One closed loop, designed so yesterday's leaks change tomorrow's ticket before you can repeat them.
Set your checklist, regime risk, loss caps, stop defaults, and quality minimums.
Checklist, earnings, IV, spread, tape context, and daily loss budget all get checked.
Position math comes from your stop distance, account, regime, and risk settings.
Save the planned trade, import fills for review, or attach the trade record after execution.
Edge Intelligence, devil's advocate, OCO copy, screenshots, fees, and debriefs close the loop.
The features no analytics tool has, because they live in the moment before the order — and in the honest accounting after it. This is the part that changes behavior.
Fast, keyboard-first, installable, and offline-capable. The core journal starts local on your device, with cloud sync and broker import when you want them.
Once a trade is closed, the app stops treating it like a row in a spreadsheet. It becomes evidence: what setup worked, what friction hurt, what rule broke, and what you should change before the next entry.
Manual journaling, cloud sync, Plan rules, smart tickets, guided sizing, gates, and debriefs are free. Pro adds automation, deeper analytics, and the AI coach.
On your device first. Everything works without an account. If you turn on cloud sync, your journal is backed up under your sign-in and scoped to your account with row-level security. You can export JSON or CSV anytime.
No, and it never will. Trapper's Edge is a planning, sizing, and journaling tool. You execute every order in your own broker — the app's job is to make sure the order you place is the one your plan allows.
Broker auto-import runs through SnapTrade and supports Schwab/Thinkorswim. Any broker can still be logged manually or imported from CSV; TOS strategy reports can be imported for backtest comparison.
Yes. The default gate is your own checklist from the Plan tab. If you have Seeking Alpha Premium, you can switch the gate to SA Quant and factor grades there. Missing research data does not block by default; values you enter are enforced.
AI features run on Google Gemini and power the setup builder, Edge Intelligence descriptions, coach reviews, weekly review, and the pre-trade devil's advocate. Pro includes built-in AI up to a monthly budget; Free accounts get a few reads a month. Anyone can instead add their own free API key for unlimited use — it stays in your browser and sends prompts straight to Google. Either way we never store your prompts or journal.
Open the app, load the demo data, and watch the gates work. No sign-up, no card.
